Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas at Commandant's Parade RMA Sandhurst

The Brigade of Gurkhas refers to all the Gurkha units in the British Army and includes infantry, engineering, signal, logistic and training and support units.

Recruited from Nepal, Gurkhas complete a rigorous 36 week training course and serve in the UK, Asia and anywhere else they are needed. Gurkha units originally served in the British Indian Army prior to Indian independence and in 2015 the Brigade celebrated 200 years of service to the British Army.

They are known for their Khukuri, a distinctive heavy knife with a curved blade, and have a reputation for being fierce and brave soldiers.
